In The Pink

“Life beats down and crushes the soul and art reminds you that you have one.”
Stella Adler

It was only a couple of years ago, that I found the art of Frida Kahlo. I can’t find a good explanation as to how I had missed learning about her life as an artist and revolutionary. There’s obviously been more than one gap in my liberal arts education. But having finally discovered her, I’ve recreated her distinctive features in my own little folk style more times than I can count. I finished this little one on a 4 X 6 inch wooden block this afternoon.
